Redtail Fusilier or Double-lined fusilier is a popular fish in Southeast Asia seas. It also called by “Takasago” in Japan or “Gurukun” in the Okinawa dialect and the much less romantic “Banana Fish” in English.
Redtail fusilier is a specie of marine ray-finned fish, a fusilier belonging to the family Caesionidae. It is widespread around reefs in the Indo-West Pacific region where it occurs from Indonesia, Western Australia and New Caledonia to southern Japan. It has also been recorded off Norfolk Island and in Tonga.
Redtail Fusilier is abundant off central of Vietnam coast year around, however it depends also on climate. Redtail Fusilier sport vivid turquoise, greenish-blue colors and reddish pectoral fin and bell.
Great deal of redtail fusilier are caught by drive fishing and gill net.
